Notes

'Edith Bogue' southern magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora 'Edith Bogue') is an evergreen tree for borders, specimen planting, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. The white flowers have a citrusy lemon scent and open late, and bees visit them. It sits low on the menu for deer. Salt tolerance makes it a fit for coastal yards.

Pairs well with Serviceberry, Rose of sharon, and Sweet woodruff.
