Notes

'Velvet Fascination' heather (Calluna vulgaris 'Velvet Fascination') is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. The plant stays evergreen and has an ascending habit. Bees visit the flowers in summer and again in autumn.

Pairs well with Hinoki cypress, Prairie dropseed, and Greig's tulip.
