Notes

'Versicolor' camellia (Camellia sasanqua 'Versicolor') is a shrub for hedges, privacy screens, borders, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It grows fast with an arching habit and stays evergreen. Fragrant flowers open in autumn and again in winter, and bees and birds visit them.

Pairs well with Strawberry tree, Common holly, Carolina jessamine, and Anemone.
