Notes

'Vesta Claussen' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Vesta Claussen') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The blooms are large and extremely double, and the color runs from light pink to deep rose. Strong, heavy stems reach 36 to 40 inches long. The flowers resemble Sarah Bernhardt but are much larger and carry red marks like Festiva Maxima.

Pairs well with Abiqua Drinking Gourd hosta, Bobo hydrangea, Garlic chives, and Queen of Night tulip.
