Notes

'Vestal' wood anemone (Anemone nemorosa 'Vestal') is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It blooms in early to late spring and tolerates drought. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. M. Leichtlin introduced it.

Pairs well with Giant trillium, Yellow trout-lily, Common cowslip, and Checkered lily.
