Notes

'Victor' lagerstroemia (Lagerstroemia indica 'Victor') is a shrub for specimen plantings, hedges, privacy screens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast into a dense form and bears dark red blooms from early summer to early autumn. Butterflies and bees visit the flowers. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Switchgrass, Mexican hat, and Beautyberry.
