'Red Rocket' lagerstroemia (Lagerstroemia indica 'Red Rocket') is a tree for low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and most soil types. It blooms in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, and it is drought tolerant. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. You can plant it in acid or neutral soil.
Pairs well with Black-eyed Susan, Agapanthus, and Orange daylily.
