Notes
'Tonto' lagerstroemia (Lagerstroemia indica 'Tonto') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil of most types. It bears magenta flowers in spring, summer, and autumn, and its leaves add fall color. Deer tend to pass it by. Once established, it tolerates drought.
Pairs well with May Night salvia, Fountain grass, and Red-hot poker.
