Notes

'Victor Simmons' peony (Paeonia 'Victor Simmons') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Dark crimson double flowers face upward and bloom late in the season, one per stem. The upright plant rarely needs support, though it may help in poor conditions. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Moonshine yarrow, Prairie dropseed, and Liberty hosta.
