Notes

'Viking Full Moon' peony (Paeonia 'Viking Full Moon') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Its fragrant, single, light yellow flowers measure 5 to 6 inches across and have dull red flares hidden under a ring of yellow stamens. Strong stems hold the blooms, which open with the early lactiflora season.

Pairs well with Stella de Oro daylily, Annabelle hydrangea, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
