Notes

'Viola' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Viola') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It blooms in early summer with light pink, loosely built bomb flowers that have a rose-pink center. Strong stems hold the blooms upright. Nicholls bred it, and Gilbert H. Wild and Son introduced it in 1957.

Pairs well with Hairy aster, Ageratum, and Sedge.
