Notes
'Violet Dawn' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Violet Dawn') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The deep rose-red double flowers are fragrant and face upward. Stout, upright stems carry them and need no support. The blue-green foliage is narrow and pointed.
Pairs well with Iris, Ostrich fern, Picture tulip, and Hungarian Blue poppy.
