Notes

'Walter Faxon' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Walter Faxon') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double, mildly fragrant blooms open shell pink with lighter edges in mid to late spring and early to mid summer. The color fades with age and in strong sun. John Richardson bred it, and it does best with age, good care, and disbudding.

Pairs well with Royal fern, Miss Kim lilac, and Spanish bluebell.
