Notes
'Waltraute' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Waltraute') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single pink flowers have darker red flecks over a whitish base, and each stem carries four blooms. New foliage emerges red, and plants reach 35 inches tall. Michael Miely bred it.
Pairs well with Compass plant, Cinnamon fern, and Spanish bluebell.
