Notes

'Walweigeye' weigela (Weigela Florida 'Walweigeye') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimens, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Rose-red flowers open in spring and again in summer on arching stems. Deer tend to pass it by. Hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Susan magnolia, Bobo hydrangea, and Christmas fern.
