Notes

'War Cloud' peony (Paeonia 'War Cloud') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. The fragrant red flowers have white edges and a Japanese type form. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms.

Pairs well with First Frost hosta, Stella de Oro daylily, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
