Notes
'Wealthy' apple (Malus domestica 'Wealthy') is a tree for the food garden, grown for fresh eating. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Peter Gideon bred it in 1860. It blooms in early to late spring and draws bees. You need a second apple tree nearby for pollination, and the fruit keeps for 2-3 weeks.
Pairs well with Mock orange, Pink Lemonade blueberry, and Prairie dropseed.
