Notes

'White Shrine' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'White Shrine') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant double blooms open in early to mid spring. Outer petals are pure white with dashes of red, and the center shows pink, yellow, and green. Ernest Flint Kelsey bred it.

Pairs well with Lady's mantle, Miss Kim lilac, Cheerfulness daffodil, and Sensitive fern.
