Notes

'Whopper' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Whopper') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Light pink blooms with cream centers are fragrant and attract butterflies. Carl G. Klehm bred it in 1980.

Pairs well with Lady's mantle, Globemaster allium, Willow bell, and Armenian cranesbill.
