Wilford Johnson peony

Garden uses

Notes

'Wilford Johnson' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Wilford Johnson') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows in a barrel shape about 32 to 34 inches tall. Thick, strong stems carry dark green foliage all the way to the ground. The double, bright rose-pink blooms measure 6 to 8 inches and lay flat on top of the bush.

Pairs well with Francee hosta, Shrub rose, and Garlic chives.
