Notes

'Wisley' clematis (Clematis 'Wisley') is a vine for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Violet flowers with yellow anthers open in spring, summer, and autumn, and they draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Mogens Nyegaard Olesen bred it in 2004.

Pairs well with Etoile Violette clematis, Alina rose, Royal Purple smoketree, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
