Notes

'Yellow Bird' cucumber tree (Magnolia acuminata 'Yellow Bird') is a tree for low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Fragrant flowers open from early to late spring, and birds visit the tree. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows in a pyramidal shape at a moderate rate, so give it plenty of room.

Pairs well with American beech, Juneberry, and Grape hyacinth.
