Notes

'Zansetzu' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Zansetzu') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It blooms in late spring with large white flowers in the Japanese form. The yellow staminodes look like normal stamens, and the plant stays small and compact.

Pairs well with Iris, Tiger lily, Sensitive fern, and Carlton daffodil.
