Notes
'Zeus' peony (Paeonia 'Zeus') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Nassos Daphnis bred it, and the ball-like double red blooms are fragrant and attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The heavy stems stay about two feet tall.
Pairs well with Empress Wu hosta, Knapweed, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
