Notes

'Abbess Roothing' peony (Paeonia 'Abbess Roothing') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Large red double flowers are fragrant and sit three to a stem on upright stems over 31 inches tall. Professor Harald Fawkner bred it.

Pairs well with White Feather hosta, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and African Queen lily.
