Notes

'Adzuma-erabi' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Adzuma-erabi') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Kelway bred it in 1889. Tree peonies keep their woody stems through winter, so you can leave the framework in place each year.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Blue Angel hosta, and Cinnamon fern.
