Notes

'Akashigata' camellia (Camellia japonica 'Akashigata') is a shrub for borders, woodland gardens, and pollinator plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun and average to wet soil. Deer rarely make it their first choice. This evergreen grows slowly in a columnar shape and tolerates salt. It blooms in winter and spring, and bees and birds visit it.

Pairs well with White bigleaf hydrangea, Boxwood, and Cobra lily.
