Notes

'Alba' common periwinkle (Vinca minor 'Alba') is a groundcover for low maintenance beds and slopes. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist soil of most types. It spreads fast, so give it room to fill in 24 to 36 inches. The evergreen leaves stay on the plant all year, and butterflies visit the flowers. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Hard fern, Variegatum Solomon's seal, and European wild ginger.
