Notes

Common periwinkle (Vinca minor) is a perennial for borders, ground cover, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist soil of most types. It is evergreen, grows fast, and stays only 3 to 6 inches tall, so give it room to spread. The lavender blue flowers attract butterflies. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Weigela, Black Parrot tulip, and Eastern white pine.
