Notes
'Illumination' common periwinkle (Vinca minor 'Illumination') is a groundcover for low maintenance planting and covering bare ground. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows fast and spreads 12 to 24 inches, so give it room. The evergreen leaves stay on the plant through winter, and the plant also tolerates drought and salt. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Western sword fern, Carlton daffodil, and False Solomon's seal.
