Notes

'Amarillo Star' peony (Paeonia 'Amarillo Star') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Light yellow, fragrant blooms open in spring and summer. Roger F. Anderson bred it, and the stems stand up without support. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with White Feather hosta, Blue Muffin arrowwood viburnum, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Polish Spirit clematis.
