Notes

'Ambrose Congreve' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Ambrose Congreve') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its single flowers are light pink with red flares. Sir Peter Smithers bred it, and it first bloomed in 1986. It grows with strong vigor and does not suffer from die back disease.

Pairs well with Abiqua Drinking Gourd hosta, Weigela, Queen of Night tulip, and Little bluestem.
