Notes

'America' peony (Paeonia 'America') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. The fragrant, fiery red flowers have a pure yellow center and ruffled petals, and they attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The strong stems hold the blooms well.

Pairs well with Annabelle hydrangea, Stargazer lily, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
