Notes

'American Giant' sunflower (Helianthus annuus 'American Giant') is an annual for borders, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the flowers, and the plant tolerates drought. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It grows fast and stands tall and erect.

Pairs well with Jewel nasturtium, Asian Garden celosia, Red fescue, and Zucchini.
