Notes
'Chocolate' sunflower (Helianthus annuus 'Chocolate') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is not cold-hardy and will not survive freezing temperatures. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It is a tall, branching variety with long stems. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the yellow blooms.
Pairs well with Jewel nasturtium, Cerise Queen yarrow, and Red fescue.
