Notes

'Anah Kruschke' rhododendron (Rhododendron 'Anah Kruschke') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, shade gardens, and woodland settings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Reddish-purple flowers with a deep purplish-red blotch open in early to late spring, and hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It grows 36 to 60 inches tall.

Pairs well with Lady fern, Halcyon hosta, and Paperbark maple.
