Notes

'Apricot' peony (Paeonia 'Apricot') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Yellow blooms with red shading and red flares open high above silver gray foliage in early to late spring. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Prof. Arthur Percy Saunders bred it in 1948.

Pairs well with Mock orange, Queen of Night tulip, Sum and Substance hosta, and Jackmanii clematis.
