Notes

'Aroma' apple (Malus domestica 'Aroma') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its dense, moderate-growing form bears flowers from early to late spring, and bees visit them. It is not self-fertile, so plant a second apple nearby for pollination. SLU bred it in 1945.

Pairs well with Wild geranium, Magnus coneflower, and Pink Lemonade blueberry.
