Notes
'Asahi-no-hikare' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Asahi-no-hikare') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. A Japanese breeder developed it, and the name means Light of the Morning Sun. Cut the blooms to bring them indoors.
Pairs well with Catmint, Blue fescue, and Queen of Night tulip.
