Atropurpurea trumpet honeysuckle

Notes

'Atropurpurea' trumpet honeysuckle (Campsis radicans 'Atropurpurea') is a vine for covering fences, walls, and arbors, and for attracting a bold show of color. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Large scarlet red flowers open in panicles of 6 to 12 blooms. It clings to surfaces by aerial roots and spreads by underground runners, so give it room to ramble and edge the bed to keep it in check.

Pairs well with Panicle hydrangea, Balsam fir, and Horsetail.
