Notes

'Aurea' Serbian spruce (Picea omorika 'Aurea') is a tree for borders, specimen planting, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its arching form grows slowly and stays evergreen all year, and birds visit the branches. Deer rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Paperbark maple, Winter aconite, Christmas fern, and Prairie dropseed.
