Notes

Serbian spruce (Picea omorika) is a tree for specimen, accent, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its gray, silver, green, and white needles stay on the tree all year and draw birds. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Give it room for its slow, arching growth.

Pairs well with Paperbark maple, Hicksii yew, Winter aconite, and Prairie dropseed.

Native range

Central Asia, Asia, and Qinghai.
