Notes

'Aurore' peony (Paeonia 'Aurore') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Single, fragrant blooms open in early to late spring in terra cotta shades with a coppery sheen. Butterflies visit the flowers, and Auguste Dessert bred it.

Pairs well with Blue star, Blue Angel hosta, Lily, and Damask rose.
