'Autumn Explosion' iris (Iris 'Autumn Explosion') is a perennial. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Its fragrant purple and lavender flowers are speckled with white, and it can rebloom in late summer. Rabbits tend to nibble other plants first. Divide the clumps every two to three years just after blooming, and plant the rhizomes at or just below soil level.

Pairs well with Bowl of Cream peony, Campfire rose, and Black Parrot tulip.
