Notes

'Avant Garde' peony (Paeonia 'Avant Garde') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. The fragrant, medium-sized flowers are pale rose with plum veining at the base of the petals and golden stamens. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Coralbells, Yarrow, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Carlton daffodil.
