Notes

'Banderilla' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Banderilla') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The Japanese type flowers open in early summer. Petals are black-red with a dark center and a yellow edge. R.H. Jones bred it.

Pairs well with Rainbow's End hosta, Japanese spirea, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
