Notes
'Barbara Utterback' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Barbara Utterback') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears large, full double flowers in dark red in mid to late spring. The strong stems hold the blooms well. George E. Winchell bred it.
Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Carlton daffodil.
