Notes
Turkish hazel (Corylus colurna) is a tree for borders, specimen plantings, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a dense tree that can reach 40 to 80 feet tall. Yellow male catkins appear in early to late spring. It also tolerates drought and salt.
