Notes

'Red Majestic' hazelnut (Corylus avellana 'Red Majestic') is a shrub for borders, hedges, privacy screens, and food gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. It has an erect habit and blooms in early to late spring. Birds visit it, and its form adds interest to the garden in winter.

Pairs well with Hicksii yew, Lenten rose, Christmas fern, and Korean spice viburnum.
