Notes
'Beatnik' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Beatnik') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Dominique Maltais bred it. The double red flowers shade to purple and can reach 4 to 6 inches across. They sit well above the foliage, and the stems do not need support.
Pairs well with Orange lily, Sedge, and Grape hyacinth.
